Travelling by car from Melbourne

Geelong is just over an hour's drive from Melbourne. Travel over the West Gate Bridge and onto the Princes Freeway towards the city of Geelong. From here you can venture out into the Bellarine Peninsula.

Air services

Avalon Airport is Victoria’s second international airport and conveniently located 45 minutes’ drive from Melbourne and 25 minutes’ drive from Geelong. Domestic Jetstar flights fly to and from Sydney, Adelaide and the Gold Coast. Melbourne airport is also an option, just an hour’s drive from Geelong. Geelong also has its own dedicated airport shuttle service, The Gull, which runs up to 170 services up and down the highway each week. 


Other transport options

V/Line runs frequent train services from Southern Cross Station in Melbourne to Geelong. V/Line coach services operate from Melbourne to Geelong Railway Station.

Ferry services operate between Queenscliff on the Bellarine Peninsula and Sorrento on the Mornington Peninsula, as well as Portarlington on the Bellarine Peninsula or Geelong Central and Docklands in Melbourne.
