For a tongue-in-cheek take on Japanese culture, Mr Miyagi in Windsor is the place to be. Picture flamboyant cocktails and dishes inspired by the far reaches of the Asian continent. Throw in some in-your-face flavour and visual allure, and you've got the recipe for a pretty great night on Chapel. 

4. Stella

Set across four levels, Melbourne institution Stella serves up hearty and authentic Italian fare. Here, you can sip cocktails on the open-air rooftop, enjoy a delicious dinner in the elegant ground floor restaurant space, or treat yourself to a perfectly wood-fired pizza in the first floor pizzeria.

5. Hawker Hall 

This vibrant Chapel Street eatery draws inspiration from the bustling hawker centres of Singapore and Malaysia, with its vibrant interiors and flavour-packed 'feed me' banqueting menus. At Hawker Hall, dine on cult favourites like Peking style roast duck, chicken satay, tofu puffs, and crispy dumplings, complemented by tasty handmade cocktails. 

6. Ines Wine Bar

Combine the sultry allure of Europe with a splash of Windsor cool and you get Ines Wine Bar. Swoon over sumptuous food and the cracking list of French, Italian and local wine by Coravin and soak up the moody atmosphere generated by ambient lighting and walnut furnishings.

7. The Woods 

Pay homage to the best of the 1900s and take your pick of more than 100 whiskies to sip from fine crystalware at The Woods. Step into a speakeasy from a bygone era and listen to classic gramophone tunes, check out the taxidermy on display, and nibble tasty morsels from the menu. 

8. Beverly

Meet Chapel Street's hottest new rooftop venue: Beverly. This chic Californian-inspired restaurant and bar is bright and airy, boasting incredible views of Melbourne's city skyline. A carefully curated, modern Australian menu complements the oh-so-stylish setting, featuring delightful dishes like kingfish crudo, Cali cobb salad, pork cotoletta, and lobster mac 'n' cheese.

9. Tokyo Tina

Hannoi Hannah has expanded south-side, with its younger sibling, Tokyo Tina. Head to Windsor for contemporary Japanese food with Korean flavours, straight from the pages of The Good Food Guide 2022. Delight your tastebuds with tonkatsu croquettes and pork and kimchi gyoza with a side of Japanese beer, whisky or sake.
